More Photos of Flooding in Concord!

I spent a bit of time yesterday riding my bicycle around town, trying to get some photos of the flooding.

I was impressed by the fast moving current under the bridges, how some of the bridge arches were underwater, and how so many cars went past the barricades thinking they'd save some time by taking a short-cut and driving through the puddles. I wonder if they were surprised to find themselves stalled out in the middle of the puddles? On my two trips to Heath's Bridge on Sudbury Road, I saw a total of 3 cars stuck in the water. What were they thinking?!

On my one trip to Garfield and 117, there was another car in that huge puddle. It was entertaining watching the tow trucks pull them all out, but I'm sure the drivers weren't happy to be so inconvenienced.

Here's a video I put together of the sights around Concord:

Beautiful Baby Boy

What a beautiful baby I photographed last week! At 6 months old, he was full of charm - and reminded me of his older brother and sister, who I also photographed at this age.

Drying out in Concord

Well, fortunately, we have a sump pump and I've been able to have fun looking at the flood waters around town instead of working on pumping out our basement!! We are very lucky.

The puddles and flooded roadways are exciting to look at; one neighbor said he hadn't seen a flood like this in 20 years. These photos were taken at the junction of Garfield Road and Route 117.

Where there should be cars whizzing by, instead we have a peaceful scene of a couple with their canoe and a bicyclist walking on the guard-rail

(and yes, he did get his feet wet when he got to the end of the guard rail and found there was still about 4" of water there! He managed to not fall in, though!!!
